Risto is mainly engaged with Criminal Law and misdemeanor proceedings – from the first procedural step to representing clients in the European Court of Human Rights. He also deals with civil disputes, which mainly involve so-called everyday legal issues people have, and small businesses

Risto’s experience in criminal justice includes the following professional achievements:
- Plenty of favorable outcomes for the clients in matters involving tax crimes, corruption, benefit fraud and personal crimes, and in business related misdemeanors. Noteworthy is a precedent case of fraud in sports betting on football, resulting in acquittal of the defendant
- Two successful judgments for the clients in the European Court of Human Rights, also other cases that were substantively reviewed by the European Court of Human Rights
- Number of Supreme Court case law in criminal and misdemeanor matters based on his complaints
Risto also has experience in advising businesses in Corporate & Commercial matters
Professional membership
Member of the Estonian Bar Association since 2001. From 2013 to 2017 he was a member of the State Legal Aid Commission of the Estonian Bar Association

Risto graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Tartu in 2000 after studying at the University of Helsinki for a year
